Getting inspired...at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill

Added on by Maja Jones.

If you were going to do/see one thing in the South East this weekend make that the Cut and Paste exhibition of Ivan Chermayeff’s work in Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion as it ends on the 14th September.

Seeing Chermayeff's work, it’s hard not to use the words inspiring and amazing. What makes the work of the 82 year old American born Modernist graphic designer and artist even more special is that it fits perfectly within Modernist De La Warr Pavilion which just happened to be co-designed by his father Serge Chermayeff.

If you are feeling inspired by the exhibition, there's a table with magazines and papers for your own "Assemblage"...

In a short film, in which he talks about his career and life, there are quite a few iconic logos that I never realised were designed by him! So inspiring to see that someone which such an artistic flare had also achieved a great commercial success.
